Translating Conservation and Development Policy into Practice: The Namibian Protected Landscape Conservation Areas Initiative

The objective of this research was to investigate community, regional, and national level approaches to land-use and development planning as it related to the forthcoming Protected Landscape Conservation Areas Initiative (PLCA) in Namibia.  My research examined the ecological, social, political, and economic feasibility of proposed activities and priorities at these various scales, including the national level context, the Greater Waterberg Landscape pilot-study PLCA, and the Ozonahi Conservancy.
