Environmental Leadership and Training Initiative

The new Environmental Leadership and Training Initiative (ELTI) program was recently established, jointly coordinated by the Tropical Resource Institute (TRI) at FES and the Center for Tropical Forest Science of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute based in Panama City, Panama. This iniative was made possible by a $4.8 million gift from the Lisbet Rausing Charitable Fund.

ELTI involves training of field workers in conservation, park managers, officials concerned with energy, infrastructure services and natural resources, and environmental policy makers and community leaders, mainly in Latin America and Southeast Asia. The training will occur through short-term courses, workshops, and field trips.

Visit the TRI website to obtain more information about ELTI.
