Hydrology for the Environment, Life and Policy (HELP), a joint initiative of the United Nations Educational Scientific Organization (UNESCO) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO), is holding a symposium from the 4th to the 9th of November 2007 in Pretoria, South Africa. The title of the symposium is: ‘Local Solutions to Global Water Problems- Lessons from the South”. The symposium aims at ‘bridging the gap between science and policy to solve “water related issues” at the local, national and international levels.’
